Jewelry for Rent: Rocksbox

A little bit of bling goes a long way. They’re great conversation starters, distracters and a great way to complete an outfit. I personally love wearing colorful pieces to make a black outfit pop! When I first read about Rocksbox on Wanna Be Fashion Blogger, I knew I had to try it. So, when the company contacted me to really try it out, I couldn’t say no! IMG_3846 It’s a monthly jewelry box on loan where they send you three items from your wish list, and you get to wear them for as long as you’d like (during your membership). If you don’t like it, you send it back for something new. If you do like it, you can buy it for about 20% off the retail price. Usually I’m a little hesitant to enroll myself in monthly “clubs,” but with work events coming up in the near future, I’ll try it out for only $19.99/month. I am pretty impressed how cute my first box was. IMG_3847 I pretty much love everything I got, except the nautical bracelet, so I think that’s pretty great for their first try! I do have to say, the necklace is my favorite. It’s actually sparkly and something I’ve wanted for awhile. Let’s hope I can figure out a way to buy it. IMG_3848 With that said, if you’re a jewel-holic like me, give them a try! I have a code for you to receive your first month free! Since you can send stuff back as soon as you’d like, you’ll probably be able to try on at least 12 pieces. Go to www.rocksbox.com and sign up using the code: katiegartonxoxo. The code is good for 30 days and will get you your first month for free. After the 30 days you only get 50% per month. So get some jewels now! Can’t wait to see what my next box will bring me.

Come shop with me!

Time to shop! I’ve partnered with Stella & Dot to offer an online trunk show. I’m so excited because I love all their jewelry. It reminds me of J.Crew, but I think it’s better because whenever you purchase a piece you are supporting the stylist. They are independent business owners, and I’m all about supporting that.

My stylist is Jennifer Martzolf.  She’s been a stylist and business owner for 3.5 years.  She was obsessed with the jewels and decided to  quit her statistical software career, and start a new business. Jennifer says it was the BEST decision for her and her family.  She is a mother of  three very active, young children, so she loves the flexibility that Stella & Dot offers to work her business around her family.  “And, of course, the fashion, friendships and FUN is AMAZING!!!” she said.

Other words from Jennifer:

As a Stylist at Stella & Dot, we have the opportunity to share the style with fabulous woman who love our accessories. Our trunk shows are so much fun, friends gathering to shop some fabulous accessories and the best part is that we get to spoil our hostesses with free jewels & discounted shopping. My hostesses, customers & friends started noticing how much fun I was having and started asking lots of questions about the business and that is when I started to realize that I wanted to share my joy with them. And that is when I started sharing the opportunity with other women who were looking for part-time or more full-time flexible work, wanted to get out of the house and have some fun or like me – were looking for a change. Now, in addition to holding trunk show, I also coach and train my new stylists to help them get off to a strong start. We are hiring and if you are interested in learning more, please contact me at 630-802-2657 or at jmartzolf@hotmail.com to chat more.

But to the fun part, the jewels! I’ve picked one dreamy, splurge item and six reasonably-priced staples.

SPLURGE

1. The Sutton Necklace, $128 : I love that it has the capability to be several different necklaces in one. It’s a little edgy, but still feminine.

Pins I’m Loving This Week

vintage green bracelet

I don’t think there needs to be any explanation as to why I love this bracelet. It’s gorgeous! Why don’t they make jewelry like this anymore?

good quotes

I need to remember this quote. It’s been rough, but maybe it wouldn’t be if I laughed more and went to sleep earlier. I guess I’ll try it out and we’ll see how it goes.

dresses

I love the mix of polka dots and a pattern. It’s classy and edgy, and I want it in my closet now.

embroidered art

I’ve been seeing a lot of embroidered art on Pinterest lately and I think I want to make one. I love this one because it has a strong fashion message, but it covers the face, so it’s not like “hey, I have a model on my wall for art.”

Pins I’m Loving

Taber Studios Ring
Plain Gold-Filled Ring by Taber Studios

Mike and I are looking more into wedding bands. We’ve been shopping around and it seems like we need to make decisions soon with the lead times everyone keeps giving us. I was thinking a thin gold band, but do I get a titanium one to match Mike’s or do I get one with diamonds? Tough decisions. What do you guys think?

Strawberry Mango Salsa
via Damn Delicious

How delicious does this look? I’ve never really had a salsa that didn’t involve tomatoes, but I think I’m down to try this. Damn Delicious did a great job with this recipe. My tastebuds are begging for it right now. Strawberries, mangoes, jalapenos, honey. What? Who wants to try this with me?

Payton Cosell Turner Sticker Wallpaper

This is wallpaper!!! The little girl inside is jumping up and down screaming “I want, I want, I want.” My family can attest that I was a sticker collector and that this is perfect for me. Yes, it’s a little cooky, but I absolutely love it. I think I could sit in a room of this and be entertained for hours. Thank you Payton Cosell Turner for creating these masterpieces of sticker wallpaper! Pretty sure I saw that Lena Dunham has this in her apartment. What do you think?
