Jewelry for Rent: Rocksbox

A little bit of bling goes a long way. They’re great conversation starters, distracters and a great way to complete an outfit. I personally love wearing colorful pieces to make a black outfit pop! When I first read about Rocksbox on Wanna Be Fashion Blogger, I knew I had to try it. So, when the company contacted me to really try it out, I couldn’t say no! IMG_3846 It’s a monthly jewelry box on loan where they send you three items from your wish list, and you get to wear them for as long as you’d like (during your membership). If you don’t like it, you send it back for something new. If you do like it, you can buy it for about 20% off the retail price. Usually I’m a little hesitant to enroll myself in monthly “clubs,” but with work events coming up in the near future, I’ll try it out for only $19.99/month. I am pretty impressed how cute my first box was. IMG_3847 I pretty much love everything I got, except the nautical bracelet, so I think that’s pretty great for their first try! I do have to say, the necklace is my favorite. It’s actually sparkly and something I’ve wanted for awhile. Let’s hope I can figure out a way to buy it. IMG_3848 With that said, if you’re a jewel-holic like me, give them a try! I have a code for you to receive your first month free! Since you can send stuff back as soon as you’d like, you’ll probably be able to try on at least 12 pieces. Go to and sign up using the code: katiegartonxoxo. The code is good for 30 days and will get you your first month for free. After the 30 days you only get 50% per month. So get some jewels now! Can’t wait to see what my next box will bring me.

I’ve been looking for cute, affordable, and modest work out clothing for awhile. I’m happy to say I’ve found the perfect place, Fabletics.

Bear with me if you already shop with them or have heard about them. Fabletics is an activewear line co-founded by Kate Hudson that is wildly affordable and high quality compared to other brands like Athleta, GapFit, Old Navy, etc.

The reason why I started was that the first outfit as a VIP is $25 and the outfits range from two to three pieces. Two to three pieces..let that settle in. If you’re shopping at Gap a pair of leggings are around $65. Then once you’re a VIP member, you receive monthly picks to your inbox based on your body type –The only thing you need to be cautious of is that you have to respond to your monthly picks by the 5th of the month or your account is charge $49.95.

My first outfit was a pair of leggings, sports bra and basic black tee. The quality of the leggings are amazing. I don’t worry about my butt showing, my cellulite showing or anything. They do run a tad tight, but personally, I like that. I know everything is in place and not going anywhere. Sweat doesn’t even show through this light-colored fabric.

They also have a cute kid’s clothing line that my niece and nephew both have outfits from too!

Check them out! If you want to join, use my invite link. What’s your favorite place to get workout gear?

The Perfect Man Shop: Alton Lane

Last month, Mike and I had the pleasure of experiencing the newest Alton Lane store. If you’re a man and have a hard time shopping for the perfect shirt and/or suit pieces, look no more.

Alton Lane is a premium custom men’s clothing store. At least that’s what other articles will tell you. Our experience leads me to call it an ultimate man shop.

As you enter the showroom, it screams man cave. You’re offered a drink from their bar stocked with premium liquor, spirits and beers and you’re guided to a comfortable spot at the bar or tufted leather seating. If you chose the sofa, you’ll sit in front of a barn-wood paneled wall and under a cast iron deer bust, staring straight at the bar and huge flat screen TV. You’ll basically be building your perfect

If you’re a man in Chicago and haven’t made an appointment here, then I don’t know what type of man you are. This shop truly celebrates being a man in the right way; with a fully stocked bar and an offering of custom suit and shirt options.

I went in with my husband and it was great seeing how passionate and knowledgable Jason was about the product, services, and store. It’s really refreshing to have that kind of experience for a man. It was also great seeing my husband pick the fabrics, cuff style, thread, etc. with such excitement all while sipping on some quality bourbon. Who ever said men can’t be manly while choosing fashion?

If you’re looking for a nice experience to give any man in your life, make an appointment with them. He’ll love it and then they’ll have his measurements on file forever …so it helps you out in the long run too! I can’t wait to see my man’s customer made shirt we ordered!

Pins I’m Loving

Happy Friday! I haven’t done one of these posts in forever. Lately I’ve been dreaming about a lot of things; clothes, shoes, homes, travels, decorating, but being on a tight budget and trying to plan a honeymoon means no extra spending. So here’s what I’ve been dreaming about thanks to Pinterest.

Since it’s hot doesn’t it mean we get to eat ice cream more? I don’t know why, but I keep having cravings for ice cream after I work out. Then I saw this picture and my mind was blown. This is the ultimate fat kid reward. A definite way to waste the calories you just burned at the gym.

via paper &’s a DIY on how to make them!!
